Here is a simple cabbage side dish flavoured with a light yogurt curry sauce. Add this curried cabbage to your main for extra flavour and healthiness!

Adding cabbage to our diet will give you extra fiber and antioxidants. Both are important to keep our bodies healthy.

Why not change up our side dishes?

Adding healthy vegetables to our mains is often our priority. But making something different aside from the classics such as the roasted maple ginger carrots or the green beans with maple bacon and ginger.

or the……., makes everything so much tastier.

The easiest creamy side of curried cabbage recipe….

To make this cabbage side dish, you will need three other vegetables. The more vegetables, the better, I say!

You will need onions, garlic and bell peppers. The combination of these healthy veggies creates a flavourful cabbage side.

To add a little sauciness, I used yogurt and apple cider vinegar.

For the flavour, a good gluten-free curry powder blend. Curry powder is made with a combination of a few spices. This is why curry powder is so flavourful.

The spices used in curry powder are turmeric, chilli powder, ground coriander, ground cumin, ground ginger and pepper. You can buymild, medium or hot strengths. I like the mild strength because you can always add extra spiciness.

moving on to the curried cabbage recipe,

To make this flavourful cabbage side, first cook the onions until soft. Then add the garlic, spices and bell peppers and cook until aromatic.

next comes the cabbage,

Add the cabbage at the end. The reason for this is you can cook the cabbage until you reach desired firmness. I like my cabbage cooked, but it has to be firm to bite. However, cooking the cabbage until tender is also super yummy!

Once the cabbage is cooked to your desired firmness, stir in the apple cider vinegar and yogurt. It is done in no time and so much healthiness in one simple, most flavourful cabbage side that is lightly sauced.

I like to add this curried cabbage side to chicken like the crispy baked ranch chicken or pork dishes, like the orange spiced pork tenderloin. Somehow, cabbage goes exceptionally well with these two mains.

If you are following a plant-based diet, serve the cabbage over a tasty rice dish. The flavour from the cabbage will enhance anything you add it to.

Sometimes the simplest dishes are the best. And this is one of them. The curried cabbage side is super healthy and insanely delicious. Enjoy!
