Oven Baked Sea Bass with Lemon Ginger Sauce

The sea bass in this recipe although baked is actually poached in parchment paper with green onions and a lemon ginger sauce. Since fish needs very little cooking, it is simplicity itself, and the results are sensational especially when served with gluten-free herbed rice. A deliciously simple fish dish that will impress your family and guests every time!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. minced ginger
  • 2 lime leaves (optional)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 tsp. GF white ground pepper
  • Pure sea salt
  • 2 lbs. sea bass (one piece)
  • 1 bunch green (spring) onions, thinly sliced lengthwise (mostly white part)
  • 1 lemon, halved and thinly sliced

    Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450 F
  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil paper then with parchment paper
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, heat olive oil, 1/2 the parsley, butter, lemon juice, ginger, lime leaves, garlic, white pepper and 1/4 tsp. sea salt. Once the sauce starts to bubble, remove from the heat and cool to room temperature
  • Place sea bass on the parchment paper and lightly season with salt
  • Top with remaining parsley, green onions, and lemon slices. Spoon cooled sauce over the fish and wrap with parchment paper and then with foil
  • Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until internal temperature is 145 F
  • To serve place fish on a warm platter and top with the sauce leftover from the fish
