Gluten-Free Cheese and Bacon Canapés

These are Italian crostini, consisting of toasted slices of gluten-free bread and topped with mildly flavoured hot cheese and bacon topping. There is a splendid array of appetizers to be enjoyed during holiday season, but the texture and flavour of these gluten-free hot cheese and bacon canapés is irresistible

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup GF mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 green onions, finely sliced
  • 2 cooked bacon strips, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 6 slices gluten-free bread, lightly toasted
  • Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  • In a medium bowl combine all the ingredients except the bread
  • Using a cookie cutter or a sharp knife, cut the bread into 24 pieces (4 pieces per slice)
  • Using a small teaspoon top each piece with the mixture. Place each piece on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes. Serve immediately
  • Note; the bread and mixture can be made in advance. Top the bread with the mixture just before baking
