Best Gluten Free Turkey Burgers

Ingredients
2 lbs. lean ground turkey
1/2 cup finely chopped mushrooms
1 Tbsp. minced garlic
1 tsp. dry oregano
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. sea salt
1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
1 Tbsp. melted coconut oil or grape seed oil, for brushing
4 slices of hard cheese (optional)
Lettuce leaves or gluten-free burger buns
Optional toppings; onions, cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, gf mustard, gf mayo, gf ketchup
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix all the ingredients except the oil. Make 4 burger patties and brush with oil. Place the patties on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze them for 15 minutes before cooking. This will prevent them from sticking to the barbecue grill
- Barbecue method: Place patties on a preheated barbecue grill and cook 5 - 7 minutes per side (depending on the thickness of the patties. Add cheese and cook until melted
- Oven method: Preheat oven to 400 F. Place patties on a non-stick baking sheet, and bake 10 - 15 minutes. Top with cheese and cook until cheese is melted
- To serve, place burgers on lettuce leaves or grilled gluten free burger buns with as many toppings as you desire
