These Gluten-Free Honey Cinnamon Cookies are the perfect way to kick off the cookie season! With baking in full swing, I’m excited to share this melt-in-your-mouth cookie recipe that’s loved by the little rascals on Halloween. This simple gluten-free cookie recipe uses a gluten-free flour blend, butter, honey, cinnamon, baking soda, and a hint of vanilla. The result is a perfect butter cookie, hinted with warm cinnamon and warmvanilla flavor.

Fun Halloween Decorating with Gluten-Free Honey Cinnamon Cookies

I love this Gluten-Free Honey Cinnamon Cookie recipe because it’s easy to decorate! With Halloween around the corner, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to add some festive touches.

I’ll admit, decorating cookies or cakes isn’t my strong suit—it’s definitely not high on my list of accomplishments. But I gave it my best shot.

It’s not about having a perfectly decorated cookie; it’s all about the texture and flavor—and these Honey Cinnamon Cookies have it all! They’ll melt in your mouth and are absolutely delicious.

Gluten-Free Honey Cinnamon Cookies with a Simple Glaze

For these Honey Cinnamon Cookies, I wanted to create a basic cookie glaze that offered more than just sweetness. While I typically add a few drops of pure vanilla extract to my glazes, I decided to switch it up this time. Since the cookies already contain vanilla, I opted for a splash of fresh lemon juice and a drizzle of honey instead.

The result? An amazingly delicious glaze that perfectly complements the cookies. The fresh lemon juice balances the sweetness, preventing it from overpowering the delicate flavor of the vanilla cookies.

Tips for Perfect Cookie Glaze

It’s essential to make the cookie glaze right before you’re ready to decorate, as it hardens quickly. If you notice the glaze starting to set while you’re using it, give it a good stir to loosen it up.

Choosing Food Coloring

If you’d like to add some color, I recommend using plant-based food coloring. It’s a healthier option, and the colors are vibrant and natural-looking.

Adjusting Consistency

If the glaze is too thick, thin it out only after adding food coloring. Add just a few drops of water at a time until you achieve your desired consistency. Conversely, if the glaze ends up too thin, simply add a few teaspoons of confectioners’ sugar (also known as powdered sugar) to thicken it.

Decorating Gluten-Free Honey Cinnamon Cookies

I decorated these Gluten-Free Honey Cinnamon Cookies with a Halloween theme since the holiday is just a few days away. However, feel free to customize them for any season you’re celebrating—I’m sure your decorations will turn out much better than mine!

If you prefer, use the basic glaze and sprinkle it lightly with cinnamon sugar. YUM!
