Instant Pot Best Sticky Ribs Recipe {Gluten-Free}

When it comes to ribs, it’s all about the sauce and tenderness of the ribs. We know that ribs should be cooked long and slow, but on a weeknight who has the time? In this instant pot recipe, the ribs are steamed in a delicious broth which keeps them super moist then coated with the best gluten-free sticky sauce and broiled to perfection. Total cooking time only 40 minutes and the ribs are so tender, they fall off the bones. When it comes to sticky ribs, there is nothing better than to serve them with rice and some veggies. Ingredients

  • Rack of pork baby back ribs or spare ribs
  • 2 Tbsp. Coconut sugar or brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. GF garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. Himalayan salt
  • 1 tsp. GF ground black pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 4 garlic cloves, smashed
  • 1 inch roughly chopped ginger
  • STICKY RIB SAUCE
  • 1/3 cup pure honey
  • 1/4 cup GF tamari sauce
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. Minced ginger
  • 1 Tbsp. Sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp. GF ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. GF ground cinnamon
  • Optional toppings; green onions, sesame seeds
  • Instructions

  • In a small bowl mix coconut sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Using your fingers firmly rub the ribs with the mix
  • Add water, apple cider vinegar, 4 smashed garlic cloves and chopped ginger into the Instant Pot. Add the steamer rack and place the ribs meat side curled outside into the pot.
  • Cover, select the manual setting and cook on high pressure for 35 minutes.
  • While the ribs are cooking make the sticky sauce. Place everything in a small saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes
  • Once the ribs are done cooking, use the quick release steam function and release the steam. Place the ribs on a baking tray lined with foil and brush with the sticky sauce. Broil for 3 - 5 minutes until the sauce starts to bubble
  • Sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds if you wish. Serve hot
  • Note; once the ribs are done cooking you can keep them warm in the instant pot until ready to broil
