Fresh Figs Dipped In Chocolate

When fresh figs are in season they are sweet and juicy. Dressing them up with chocolate sauce and pecans makes a delightful light dessert or a healthy snack. Fresh figs are well known for their many health benefits

 

Ingredients

  • 7 oz. GF dark chocolate, broken into small pieces or GF chocolate chips
  • ½ cup pure pumpkin seed or hazelnut butter
  • 1 cup raw pecans, finely chopped
  • About 16 small fresh figs
  • Instructions

  • Place nut butter and chocolate into a heavy bottom small saucepan and while stirring over low heat melt the butter and chocolate and mix together, creating a chocolate sauce
  • Dip each fig into the chocolate sauce and coat the fig ¾ way up. Roll in pecans
  • Place on a tray and chill for 45 minutes before serving
