Cranberry Port Sauce – Gluten Free

When I make my cranberry port sauce for family and friends, they always ask me for the recipe. Up until now, this was my secret cranberry sauce recipe, but it is time to share. Well here it is my friends, hope you and your family enjoy this packed with flavour cranberry port sauce. The port, orange zest and spices are what make this an exceptional cranberry sauce. The recipe is simple with outstanding results and naturally gluten-free

Ingredients

  • 18 oz. fresh cranberries (preferably organic)
  • ½ cup port (red or tawny)
  • ½ cup agave nectar
  • 2 Tbsp. orange zest
  • 1/8 tsp. GF ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. GF ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp. GF ground cloves
  • Instructions

  • Place all the ingredients in a medium-size heavy bottom pot
  • Turn the heat to medium and bring to boil
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 15 minutes, stirring frequently. Once the cranberries burst remove the pot from the heat and cool completely
  • Refrigerate in an airtight container for a minimum of 24 hours and up to 1 month.
  • The cranberry sauce will thicken over time. Serve at room temperature
