Paleo Date Brownies – Easy Recipe

What can I say about these paleo brownies? Healthy, mouthwatering, chocolaty, super easy to make and gluten-free. This brownie recipe is adapted from classic American dessert but without refined sugar and gluten. Instead, this dessert or a snack is packed with protein and sweet dates. Enjoy


  • 1 1/2 cups pitted dates
  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 3 large eggs, whisked
  • 2 tsp. Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. Lemon zest
  • 2 1/2 cups almond flour
  • 1 1/4 cups pure cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. GF aluminum free baking soda

  • Preheat oven to 350 F and line a 9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper
  • Soak dates in hot water for 1 minutes. Drain and cut the dates in half
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together butter, maple syrup, eggs, vanilla, lemon juice and zest
  • In a small bowl, mix the almond flour, cocoa powder and baking soda. Add to wet mixture and stir until combined. Stir in the dates and pour the batter into prepared baking pan
  • Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool in the baking pan completely before cutting
