Gluten Free Cheese And Chives Scones

For breakfast, replace muffins for these delicious gluten-free cheese and chives scones. Serve these savoury scones with ham and eggs for a hearty breakfast or a snack with jam. The scones make a wonderful addition to salads, stews or hearty soups. Enjoy!

 

 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup GF all purpose flour blend
  • 1 tsp. coconut sugar
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp. GF freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. GF baking soda
  • 1 tsp. GF aluminum free baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. GF dried rosemary
  • 1/2 cup milk, at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup chopped green onions (spring)
  • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
  • Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 F
  • In a large bowl mix the dry ingredients
  • In a small bowl whisk milk and coconut oil
  • Add green onions and cheese to dry ingredients and stir until all ingredients are evenly coated
  • Add milk mixture into dry ingredients and stir until soft dough forms. Roll the dough between two sheets of parchment paper to about 1-inch thickness. Cut to desired shapes. Bake for 25 minutes or until the scones start to golden
