Gluten-Free Savoury Bread

This hearty bread has delicious savoury flavour. It is also dairy, yeast and egg free. You can toast it in the morning with your favourite nut butter or you can serve it with a hearty soup. This bread is also excellent when used for appetizers, just add your favourite topping.


  • ½ cup gluten-free flax seeds
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tsp. organic GF apple cider
  • 1 tsp. pure maple syrup
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup all purpose gluten-free flour (I used Grandpa’s Kitchen flour blend)
  • ½ cup GF almond flour
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 1 tsp. organic GF dry rosemary, crushed
  • 1 tsp. organic GF garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. organic GF caraway seeds or thyme
  • 1 tsp. organic GF paprika
  • 1 tsp. organic GF ground mustard seed
  • 1 tsp. aluminum free baking powder
  • Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 F
  • Mix flax seeds and water in a medium size bowl and rest for 40 minutes; then stir in apple cider, maple syrup and olive oil
  • Mix balance of dry ingredients in a large bowl and add into wet ingredients. Mix with a spatula until all ingredients are well combined.
  • Add bread mix into a bread pan lined with parchment paper and bake for 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Once the bread cools keep it refrigerated in an airtight container
