Best Gluten Free Turkey Burgers

What makes a perfect burger? Lean meat, right selection of spices and cooked to perfection.  During a barbecue season, this gluten-free, incredibly tasty turkey burger recipe is a must try. And don’t forget the toppings the more, the better! Serve over lettuce leaves or on a gluten-free bun

 

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. lean ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped mushrooms
  • 1 Tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tsp. dry oregano
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. melted coconut oil or grape seed oil, for brushing
  • 4 slices of hard cheese (optional)
  • Lettuce leaves or gluten-free burger buns
  • Selection of toppings; onions, cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, gf mustard, gf mayo, gf ketchup
  • Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix all the ingredients except the oil. Make 4 burger patties and brush with oil. This will prevent them from sticking on a barbecue
  • Place patties on a preheated barbecue grill and cook 5 - 7 minutes per side (depending on the thickness of the patties. Add cheese and cook until melted
  • Oven method: Preheat oven to 400 F. Place patties on a non-stick baking sheet, and bake 10 - 15 minutes. Top with cheese and cook until cheese is melted
  • To serve, place burgers on lettuce leaves or grilled gluten free burger buns with as many toppings as you desire
